I bought these clubs from a clubmaker in Texas who refurbished the heads and assembled them with new DG S300 Stiff shafts, Standard GP Tour Velvet grips and D4 swing weight to improve tempo. I have always loved the simplicity and matte finish of the 714 MB which is why I jumped on this refurbished set while also appreciating the option to have the 3-4 CB. As you can see, the wrapping is still on many of the grips and shafts and that is because I simply never put these in my bag. I discovered that the clubs I have been playing all my life are +1/2' and it was the one spec missing in this set as these are standard length.
I quickly discovered that this was not going to suit my game so I never put them in my bag and am now looking to hand off to someone who is looking for a players club with optionality to go to CB on the longer irons. I know there is skepticism out there about 'pure-ing' shafts but in the case of the DG S300 (spined shaft) it actually does make a difference so these clubs were 'pured' in their assembly. As you can see in the pictures, there is a decent amount of wear on irons 6-8 but the grooves have been sharpened and club heads polished.
The single iron top-down profile picture is of the 8 iron which has the most wear but from address looks pretty clean. Thanks, hope this resonates with someone out there!
